How we help Missouri families
One mission drives everything we do: no family left unprepared for disability or death. We build real solutions, not just documents, and we stay with you to keep them working.
Practice Areas
Estate Planning
A good estate plan gives you the clarity, confidence, and power to control your assets while you are alive and well or provide for yourself and loved ones if you become disabled.
Elder Law
The costs of long-term care are rising at a rate that particularly affects middle class seniors. The majority of seniors will require extended care in some form.
Probate
Avoid the costly process of probate by creating a well-drafted estate plan. You can have the confidence that your estate will not be depleted by unnecessary taxes and fees.
Power of Attorney
According to state law, every adult has the sole authority to make decisions about their legal rights. Others, not even family members, are not allowed to decide anything without the subject’s consent.
Wills
It is important for every person, regardless of their situation, to begin planning for the future of their assets and property after they pass away.
Trusts
Generally speaking, the most comprehensive estate plans are ones that account for every possible way to transfer property. For many people, the ideal option for their circumstances is to create a trust.

Protect Your Loved Ones by Planning Ahead
An estate plan is a legal blueprint that defines how everything is handled when you are disabled or pass away.
Additionally, an estate plan could help you give what you have left to whom you want, when you want, and the way you desire.
In many cases, careful estate planning could ensure that you minimize your tax liability and ensure that your wisdom is being transferred along with your wealth.
An estate planning lawyer could help with all this, assessing your property and family situation to create the best framework for you.

21 Questions to Ask an Attorney
What Is an Estate? Do You Have an Estate to Plan?
Your ‘estate’ is everything that you own. This can include your home, cash accounts, retirement accounts, life insurance, stocks, vehicles, jewelry, and anything else that you have.
Everyone has an estate, some bigger than others. Everyone benefits from an Estate Plan. There are many different documents you could implement in your framework, five of which are rather important.
A Last Will and Testament, a General Durable Power of Attorney, a Health Care Power of Attorney, an Advanced Medical Directive, and a Revocable Living Trust are all crucial to protecting your future, and they all work in different ways.

The Lifespan of Plans That Work
Six stages. Each with a purpose and an owner. Nothing falls through the cracks.
The Lifespan of Plans That Work is the client journey Polaris has built from the ground up. It is not a series of transactions. It is a continuous relationship that begins with the first conversation and does not end at settlement. It continues into the next generation.
Every stage has a name that reflects what it actually is, not what it is called in a law firm operations manual.
1. The Solutions Conversation
The first conversation sets everything in motion.
This is where we discover what matters most to your family. We learn where you are today, where you want to be, and what you want your future to look like. We listen before we advise. We learn who you are before we recommend what you need. Everything Polaris builds for your family starts here.
2. Designing Your Solution
The expert guides the client. Together, they draw the map.
Your full picture comes into focus here. Family dynamics, assets, special circumstances, and prior planning all inform the plan recommendation. This is collaborative, revealing work. No two maps look the same, because no two families are the same. Your attorney designs a plan built specifically for your life. Not a template.
3. The Signing Day
A celebration. A sigh of relief. A promise fulfilled.
The day your plan becomes official. Every client leaves this meeting knowing exactly what their plan does, why it is built the way it is, and what happens when the time comes. This is not a formality. It is the moment the weight lifts. It is the moment your future self will look back on with gratitude.
4. Asset Integration
The real exhale. The plan becomes complete. Your treasures protected.
If your trust and all of your property, accounts, real estate, and assets are not fully integrated with each other, you have only documents and not a plan. Our Asset Integration Coordinator works with you directly to retitle accounts, transfer real estate, and align beneficiary designations. We then gather verification documents confirming that every asset has been properly integrated. You will know it is done because we will show you.
5. Lifespan: Your Planners for Life
The relationship that never ends.
Life changes. Plans must too. The Lifespan program keeps every client’s plan current through unlimited amendments at no hourly charge, direct attorney access, a regularly scheduled Client Update Program, annual educational events, and proactive outreach when legal changes affect your plan. Most firms close your file when you sign. We are just getting started.
6. Settlement: Guiding Your Loved Ones When You're Gone
The circle continues.
When the time comes, Polaris is already there. We know your family, your plan, and your intentions because we have been your planners for life. Settlement at Polaris is not an introduction. It is a continuation. And when it is complete, the relationship still does not end. The family members who survive you have their own planning needs, their own goals, and their own future to protect. Polaris will be there for them too.
